Sometimes, the prevailing cultural opinions and philosophies seem to be in direct opposition to God's opinions and philosophies. Even in Jesus' day the majority of the people yelled, "crucify Him!" The original disciples and apostles had to go against the grain in order to uphold the truth against mob thought and the group think of their time. Similarly, we are the ones expected to maintain God's standards today.
